Hip Pain

Hip Pain

WHAT IS CAUSING MY HIP PAIN?

Hip pain can be caused by a direct injury or from other underlying injuries. Many individuals assume hip pain is a result of old age, but it can and does affect people of all ages. Even though the hip is an extremely durable joint, the cartilage and tendons can wear down and the muscles can tire. Not to mention the hip bone itself, like any other bone, can break. It may be time to come see us if you are experiencing any of the following with your hip pain:

  • Limited range of motion
  • Interior and exterior joint pain
  • Pain in the buttocks, groin or thigh
  • Pain while walking or sitting for long periods of time
  • Pain that causes limping
  • Pain while lying down on that side

Hip pain can be a real setback since nearly all body motion involves the hip joint. When we see individuals for this ailment, we spend the time needed to carefully examine the hip to determine the source of pain. There are a number of possible reasons for hip pain that include but are not limited to:

  • Arthritis
  • Hernia
  • Hip dislocation
  • Hip fracture
  • Muscle tear(s)
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Tendinitis
